The Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment

[edit]

Perhaps someone from this WikiProject could take a look at The Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment and assess it (particularly with respect to WP:NORG and WP:NOBLE). The article was created directly in the main space by a student participating in a WP:WEP affiliated university course; so, it never really underwent any type of formal assessment (e.g. WP:AFC) and it doesn't seem to have yet been reviewed by WP:NPP. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:04, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"notable elbonians" sections

[edit]

hi - i have noticed over my time editing here that "notable/famous/etc Foo" sections are fairly widespread among ethnic group articles, and they tend to attract large amounts of uncited, trivial information over time. i question the relevance and WP:DUE-ness of these sections, as they provide very little information about the ethnic group itself and function essentially as indiscriminate collections of trivia. this information can also be difficult to verify.
some examples of what i'm talking about, mainly from my topic area interest of the Caucasus:

i wanted to start an open-ended discussion about this and get a sense of what other editors think about this phenomenon. ... sawyer * he/they * talk 02:11, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I have always wondered where people even get this info from, though I wouldn't be surprised if it's often the same source Senator Armstrong gets his info. Arctic Circle System (talk) 02:19, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
